Most Recent Release: TeamHeadquarters version 6.0
Primary focus: SQL 2005 Database
TeamHeadquarters now runs on Microsoft's SQL 2005 database (Workgroup, Standard, or Enterprise), and many of the reports use SQL Reporting Services.
The access security model in TeamHeadquarters has been re-worked to improve both flexibility and manageability.
Microsoft's Active Directory has been significantly unbundled from TeamHeadquarters. Domains, Organizational Units, and Users are no longer related to Active Directory in any way. Authentication using Active Directory is now optional (with Windows User accounts being the other option).
In previous versions, the
Contacts
folder could be configured to access either Active Directory or the built-in
TeamHeadquarters Contacts database. In
Version 6, there are two possibilities:
If you are using TeamHeadquarters contacts, there will
be a single contacts folder (
THQ
Contacts).
If you are using Active Directory Contacts, there will
be two contacts folders.
Active Directory Contacts will behave exactly like your
previous contact folder and will be the source of the customers selected
in Tickets and Projects.
THQ Contacts
will have a copy of those
contacts from Active Directory who have been previously linked with Tickets
and Projects.
The
THQ Contacts folder will also contain a
record for each of your TeamHeadquarters users, so that their contact
information can now be maintained without requiring administrator access
to Active Directory.
The TeamHeadquarters Project Calendar has been removed from version 6.
This feature was removed from reports in version 6.
Project Roster management (formerly called "Invite/Manage Members") has been moved into the Project Edit area. Also, any number of users can be labelled 'Sponsors', which gives them similar access rights as the Project Managers.
Predecessors are now maintained with Task Edit.
