Things you should know

These tips will make it easy to learn and use TeamHeadquarters.

  1. Right click menus are available on each object.  These context-sensitive menus make everything faster and easier to use.  For example, tickets can be edited by right-clicking on the ticket and selecting "Edit Ticket" from the pop-up menu.  Alternatively, pull-down menus are available at the top of the right frame for the object currently selected in the tree view.

  2. Context-sensitive Help is always available, also through the right-click menus.

  3. New Projects can be created in the Projects folder for any organizational unit or personal workspace.

  4. Each user can create personal libraries for Notes or Files in their personal workspace.

  5. Objects are moved by using drag-and-drop, where applicable.  For example, a document or file can be moved to any other folder, task, etc. that can contain a document.

  6. Expand All and Collapse All menu options are available for folders and task structures that can sometimes be stored as deep hierarchies.

  7. The Workspaces folder provides access to the entire TeamHeadquarters database.  Each user's own organizational unit is shown first, followed by the top of the database as represented with the domain icon.

  8. The Explore menu option will open up the selected object in a new browser window.

  9. The Search options make it easy to find the information you need.

  10. Security Permissions can be used to make the content of the TeamHeadquarters database as public or as private as needed.  Caution and training are advised.

  11. The Copy Shortcut to Clipboard command is on the right-click menu for database objects like projects, tasks, tickets, etc.  The shortcut can then be pasted (into email, for example) to provide links directly to specific parts of the TeamHeadquarters database.

  12. The Refresh command will re-acquire selected portions of the database from the server.  Otherwise, data is often cached locally in the client browser to avoid excessive network traffic.
