The Gantt chart provides an interactive graphical view of the task plan, actual results, and the task relationships. From this view you can analyze progress, evolve the plan, or update the actuals.
The Gantt is assembled with three separate frames:
The top frame (header) provides the task time scale as well as the control to switch the time scale. Currently two time scales exist, monthly indicating the days and in 7 day intervals for a more condensed view.
The left
frame is a hierarchical 'tree view' representation of the project
tasks. This view looks and operates the same as the Project
Tasks folder, including the same right click menu options.
The right frame (time scale) is a graphical representation of tasks time lines for planning and actuals. For details about a particular task, mouse-over the blue, red or green time scale bars.
Using the right-click menu options, the right frame can display a number of different views. With non-Gantt views, the Gantt can be restored by clicking View Gantt in the top left.
Task Properties - shows the details of the currently selected task.
Console View (Tickets) - shows a 'queue' listing of the tickets related to the currently selected task.
Right click on the
project or project
tasks folder.
Select Gantt Chart from the pop-up menu.
The Gantt Chart will open in a new window.
The Gantt Chart legend can be viewed by clicking on the Legend link in the top left.
There are 4 options for time scale: Months/Years, Quarters/Months,
Months/Weeks, and Weeks/Days. The
time scale can be changed by clicking on the increase
and
decrease buttons located in the top left.
The print button in the top left launches
(or installs/launches) the TeamHeadquarters Gantt print software. This
software makes it possible to print wide charts on multiple pages.
