New in version 6.4, the TeamHeadquarters Gantt chart offers more interactive editing and the ability to view/edit multiple projects at the same time. See the demonstration below.
Gantt Chart (version 6.4 and above)
The Gantt chart provides an interactive graphical view of the task plan, actual results, and the task relationships. From this view you can analyze progress, evolve the plan, or update the actuals.
The left-side task tree has an editable grid interface, allowing direct input of new tasks and editing of existing tasks.
The right-side Gantt chart uses standard TeamHeadquarters color representations for work that is late/overdue ( red ), less than 10% overdue (yellow), on-track (green), and future (gray).
The right-side Gantt chart supports drag-and-drop editing of task plans, predecessors, and actuals.
Multiple projects can be viewed and edited at the same time.
Right click on the
project or project
tasks folder and select
Gantt Chart from the pop-up menu.
Or, select Gantt Chart from the right side of the project menu.
By default, projects are shown in chronological order
by scheduled start/end dates. Other
Sort options
are WBS Number (as entered for each task), Scheduled End Date, and alphabetical
by task name.
Any number of existing projects can be added to the Gantt
chart by clicking the
Add
Project button and selecting from filtered lists of projects based
on your role or the project status.
To remove a project from your Gantt chart, single click
on the project in the left frame and click the
Remove
button.
To insert a new task, click the
New Task button. A
new task will be inserted immediately below the task currently in focus
on the left side.
To insert a new sub-task, click the
New Sub-Task button. A
new task will be inserted immediately below the task currently in focus
on the left side as a sub-task. The
task currently in focus will become a parent task (if it
is not already).
Tasks can be edited one at a time. When a task has changes pending, it can be saved by clicking anywhere else in the Gantt chart or by clicking the Save button.
Use the Undo button to undo pending task changes.
Task Rollup Calculations can be turned on or off, or this setting can be determined from the default setting of each project being edited.
Using the zoom in and
zoom
out buttons, the time scale can be set for years/months, quarters/months,
months/weeks, weeks/days, or days.
The print button in the top left launches (or installs/launches)
the TeamHeadquarters Gantt print software. This
software makes it possible to print wide charts on multiple pages.
The
Help menu
has links to the Gantt help (this
page) and the Gantt Legend (see
below).
Using the right-side tab options, the right frame can display either the timeline Gantt view or the task properties view. To display the list of tickets related to a particular task, right-click on the task and select View Tickets.
