When creating a new
Project or selecting the Edit
link from the Project Workspace, the user is presented with a page for
all top level information pertaining to the Project. Note that the field
names and values outlined in red
below may be customized to the organization using the System Administration tables.
The detailed sections below are available for editing by clicking the
button.

In version 6, the Project Roster is maintained with this section.

Projects and Queues all have a Roster,
or membership list, that is maintained on the Edit page.
Role: There are 4 options for Role:
Manager - has the full rights to manage the project or queue, including the assignment or work and management of the roster.
Sponsor - has the same rights as the Project Managers.
Participant - can be assigned work within the project or queue.
Observer - has the ability to view information but cannot be assigned work.
Resource Type: This field can be set to either Salaried Employee, Internal Consultant, or External Consultant. These distinctions are reflected in Project Summary Reports and Management Reports in the Progress section.
Active/Inactive: Each user's
My Projects folder
shows a list of open projects
which include that user as an active
member of the roster. If
a user is made inactive, the
project will no longer appear in the
My
Projects folder but any past time charges will continue to be included
in project cost reporting based on that user's fixed and variable cost
rates for the project. Tasks
cannot be assigned to inactive
members.
Each user's My Queues
folder shows a list of open queues
which include that user as an active
member of the roster. If
a user is made inactive, the
queue will no longer appear in the
My Queues folder and tickets cannot be assigned to
that user.
Variable
Cost: This is an hourly rate applied to time recorded in time sheets
and tickets. Costing
for
task time recorded in
time sheets is
re-calculated at run-time based on the current contents of this field.
Costing
for the time recorded in tickets is stored when the ticket
is saved based on the Variable Cost rate at that time.
Fixed Cost: This is a one-time cost applied at run-time to project cost reporting for each roster member based on the current contents of this field.
Project QueuesQueues that are part of a project use the project roster, rather than
their own roster. To

Project or Queue and select Edit
from the pop-up menu (prior to version 6, this function was accessed by
selecting Invite/Manage Members).

Save your changes.
Right click on the
Project or Queues and select Edit
