If you are concerned with your effectiveness and the number of interruptions, it may be related to the 'timing' of the interruptions. Often, the most effective approach is to use TeamHeadquarters tickets to remove timing from the equation.
When someone interrupts you directly or with an email, determine quickly if it is urgent enough to interrupt your work. If not, ask them to send it in a ticket, or to send your manager a ticket requesting your time.
If the interruption is urgent enough to interrupt your work, ensure that a ticket is created for it. If you already have a ticket open in edit mode, then either stop the clock or save the ticket. Consider whether or not you should notify someone related to the work that has been interrupted.
When anyone interrupts you (including your manager), pull up your My Tickets list and consciously ensure that the 'right' focus is being applied.
