Documents and files can be attached to any
folder,
project library,
organizational unit,
contact, ticket, or
task.
Libraries, Documents, and
Files
Right-click on the object you have selected to house the new file.
Select Add File from the pop-up menu.
Click on the Browse button and select the file of choice from your system.
Name the file and add any applicable comments.
Click the Save button.
Locate the
file within TeamHeadquarters.
Click on the file name to open the properties view of the file, as shown here:
Click on the appropriate version number, or on the file name.
If the file type is associated with a particular client software tool on the client, it will open in that tool. Otherwise, the file will be offered for download to the client machine.
The reserve operation is used to lock a file so that no other users can add new versions.
Right click on the
file.
Select Reserve from the pop-up menu.
Click Yes on the confirmation window.
A
red lock
icon will now appear with the file indicating that it is locked, or reserved.
The Check-out operation is used to lock a file while downloading a copy to the local machine.
Right click on the
file.
Select Check-out from the pop-up menu.
Click Yes on the confirmation window.
A
red lock
icon will now appear with the file indicating that it is locked, or reserved.
Also, you
will be prompted to select a target location for the file download.
Reserve or Check-out the
file so that it is shown with the
red lock icon.
Select Check-in from the pop-up menu.
Click on the Browse button and select the file of choice from your system.
If you wish to Un-reserve
the file after the upload, select the Yes
option from this dialogue:
Click the Save button.
This action will remove all versions of a file from the database.
Right click on the
file.
Select Delete from the pop-up menu.
Click Yes on the confirmation window.
